Settlement: Menard pressuremeter test

The settlement of foundations under working load conditions is an important design consideration. The settlement of foundations can be evaluated from the results of the Menard pressuremeter test by calculating two terms, which are : the settlement due to shearing stresses (deviatoric component) and the settlement due to hydrostatic compression (spherical component). When the width of the foundation is small compared to the thickness of the bearing stratum (common case of shallow foundation), the settlement due to shearing stresses is larger than the settlement due to the hydrostatic compression. CiviLab calculates the settlement of an isolated footings from the results of the pressuremeter test according to:

  • NF P 94 261 (Eurocode 7);
  • DTR BC 2.331;
  • DTU 13.12.

CiviLab allows you to:

  • Calculate the settlement of a shallow footing according to several standards;
  • Provide high quality reports;
  • Archive reports correctly.

With "CiviLab", you can easily calculate the settlement of a shallow footing. CiviLab also provides high quality reports and archive them properly
