What Nourin reads in the sheet
- The heights h₁ (flocculate) and h₂ (sand read with the piston) of each test;
- The number of tests performed on the sample;
- The project cleanliness requirement when provided;
What Nourin does with it
- Calculates SE = 100 · h₂/h₁ for each test, then the average of the values obtained;
- Rates the cleanliness of the sand and the clay fines content;
- Classifies the sand: clayey (SE < 60), slightly clayey (60 to 70), clean (70 to 80) or very clean (SE ≥ 80);
- Flags the consequences for concrete — shrinkage, swelling, lack of workability — and concludes on compliance with the requirement;
