What Nourin reads in the sheet
- The e-log σ' oedometer curve and the loading stages;
- The indices Cc and Cs and the preconsolidation stress σ'p;
- The oedometer moduli Eoed and the coefficients mv;
- The consolidation curves of each stage;
What Nourin does with it
- Determines the consolidation state: normally consolidated, overconsolidated or underconsolidated;
- Calculates the coefficient of consolidation cv using the Taylor and Casagrande methods;
- Estimates the settlement duration using Terzaghi's theory, t = TvH²/cv, expressed in readable units;
- Interpolates the void ratio at a given stress;
- Flags stages whose curve does not allow cv;
No formula is reinvented: Nourin starts from the quantities already calculated by the production sheet.
